Instant porridge, fresh porridge for babies is fragrant, delicious, and attractive to many children because it contains a lot of spices. But it is lacking and unbalanced in nutrition for the baby. So if you want to use instant porridge for your baby, you can, but don’t abuse it.
Porridge poor nutrition?
Correct! Despite the fact that manufacturers always direct consumers to accept instant porridge as a nutritional supplement, its essence is still more convenient than nutritional value.
As proof, right in the product’s ingredient description, users can easily see that ingredients such as shrimp, chicken, meat, mushrooms,… have a very low percentage. Meanwhile, a cup of nutritious porridge for babies needs to provide enough 4 groups of substances: starch, protein, vegetables (vitamins A, C,…, minerals) and fat. Such a package of instant porridge is too deficient and nutritionally unbalanced when used for children.

Too much spice, not good for the baby!
Parents are often advised to limit the amount of spices in their children’s nutrition, but if you notice that instant porridge contains a lot of spices, especially flavor enhancers (monosodium glutamate, seasoning powder, .. .).
The seasoning makes instant porridge more delicious and special, which is why many children “favor” it compared to a cup of porridge cooked by a mother with full nutrition.

Should babies eat instant porridge?
If mothers want to use them regularly, take advantage of the convenience, and use them for their baby’s daily meals, the advice is not recommended, if the mother does not want the baby to lack nutrients, malnourishment and digestive disorders.
However, because it is very convenient, sometimes mothers can also find the help of instant porridge packages when busy. For example, sometimes used for breakfast or a bad meal for the baby, mom add some minced meat or shrimp, eggs to increase nutrition.
For babies to use instant porridge, mothers should prepare more protein and vegetables
Any mother who is really “lack” of time to prepare a pot of white porridge for her baby to eat all day, wants to make use of instant porridge for convenience, but it should be noted:
– Should throw away the seasoning packages available in the porridge package, only take the porridge powder.
– The mother should prepare more protein (shrimp, crab, meat, fish,…) and vegetables to add to the bowl of instant porridge for the baby. By the way the mother can steam the water and mince / puree them, then divide them into servings and store them in the refrigerator for all day use, cook them with porridge.
Because it is very convenient, instant porridge is still chosen by many mothers to use for babies, in many situations. But mothers should note, use it, but do not abuse it because if it is only with a packet of instant porridge, peeled and boiled in water, it will not be enough nutrients for the baby to develop healthy physically!
